The War Memorial of Antillo is an important commemorative monument dedicated to the citizens who lost their lives in past conflicts.
Built in 1960 by the local administration following the wishes of the community, the monument features a solemn classical architectural style. The structure is composed of four powerful columns supporting an architrave bearing a Latin inscription that reads:
“Opus Fecerunt Aeternitatis Destinatione”
which means “They created a work destined to last forever.”
In later years the monument was enriched with war relics and a bronze statue depicting a soldier urging his comrades forward in battle. Today the monument stands as a powerful reminder of sacrifice, memory and gratitude.
